Indian Semi-Classical · Starter Series

Semi-classical dance sits between two worlds — the discipline and grammar of classical Indian dance (rooted in Kathak), and the storytelling freedom of Bollywood. We work on posture, mudras, eye expression, and the controlled, sculptural movement that makes this style instantly recognisable.

At Shoonya, Indian Semi-Classical runs as a single class every Wednesday evening. The Starter Series is how new dancers come in: the first four Wednesdays of the semester, alongside the class. There is no separate beginners group — you dance along.

Four weeks is the smallest real commitment. Dance it four times, and then you know.

Wednesdays 16, 23 and 30 September and 7 October 2026 · 20:30–21:45

Shoonya Dance Centre, Stapelplein 41, 9000 Ghent
