What to expect

Good to know before you come

Registration

None needed. Open Door Days and the trial week are walk-in. No booking, no Shoonya ID required. Check the schedule, show up 10 minutes early, and join in.

What to wear

Comfortable clothing you can move and sweat in. Bring clean indoor shoes — street shoes aren't allowed on the dance floor. Socks are fine for a first visit.

Partner dances

For Cuban Salsa, Bachata, Tango, Kizomba, and Rueda we recommend bringing a partner. Solo visitors are welcome on Open Door Days.

After the trial

Ready to continue? Create a Shoonya ID and register for the semester. Registration stays open for 3 weeks after the start — so you have time to decide.

FAQ

Common questions

No reservation is needed for Open Door Days or the first week of the semester. Just check the schedule, arrive 10 minutes early, and join in. Only regular semester registration requires a Shoonya ID.
For most classes — Ballet, Tap, Bollywood, Flamenco, Burlesque, Lindy Hop, and more — you come alone and that's perfectly normal. For partner dances (Cuban Salsa, Bachata, Tango, Kizomba, Rueda) we recommend bringing a partner, but solo visitors are still welcome on Open Door Days.
Yes — registration stays open for the first three weeks of the semester, so you can start late and still join a regular class. Some classes, like Dance & Fit and Pilates, also offer a drop-in option throughout the year. Check the class page or ask us.
You can still register during the first three weeks of the semester — even if you missed the trial events. After that window closes, Dance & Fit and Pilates still accept drop-ins all year. For other classes, contact us and we'll help you find the best option.
