The Dance of the Desert Step into the vibrant world of the Thar Desert. Originally performed by the nomadic Kalbeliya tribe, this "snake charmer" dance is world-renowned for its hypnotic energy, swirling black skirts, and rhythmic precision.

In this 7-week miniseries, Swapnil will guide you through the fundamental elements of this expressive folk style:

  • Fluidity & Grace: Master the sinuous, snake-like arm movements and torso isolations.

  • The Whirl: Learn the technique behind the iconic, high-speed spins.

  • Rhythm & Expression: Connect with the driving beats of the pungi while discovering the storytelling power of the Rajasthani spirit.

Course Details:

  • Dates: 29 April – 10 June (Wednesdays)

  • Time: 18:30 – 19:30

  • Location: Studio Aakash, Shoonya Dance Centre

  • Investment: €92 for the full series
